Can we keep what we catch?
Fishing charters must still obey local fish and wildlife laws. So, it depends on the type of fish, its size, whether it meets Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) regulations, and whether it is in season, some even require a permit. Your captain will ensure that any fish you keep is within legal limits and, if so, will fillet and prepare your catch for you to enjoy.
Is it customary to tip the captain?
While not required, tipping on a fishing charter it is customary to tip 15-20% of the total cost. This tip rewards the crew for their hard work, expertise, and dedication to going the extra mile making your fishing experience enjoyable and successful.
